Master’s Student

Jeovane Slater-Taylor, a 2nd-year Master’s student in Computer Science at the University of Maryland College Park, holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems and Computer Science from Howard University and a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from Cornell University. Currently a Solutions Architect at BAE Systems for the last three years, she brings a practical industry perspective to her academic foundation.

Jeovane is recognized for her tech community contributions, having served as the president of the National Society of Black Engineers DC Professionals Chapter and most recently recognized as a 2023 GEM Fellowship recipient. She was an invited speaker at the National Science and Technology Medals Foundation’s inaugural inSTEM Summit. As a Black ComputeHer fellow, Jeovane actively contributes to initiatives empowering Black women in technology and building a community of Black women and girls in computing in tech.

Jeovane is the youngest of 3 girls and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, listening to music, spending time with her family and friends, and cheering on the Eagles and the Lakers.
